Hannah and Jacob from our Canterbury Community Bank® Branch dropped in to the East Camberwell Baptist Church’s market day on the weekend. While they were there, they presented a cheque for $550 to Pastor Murray Hogg. The church used our sponsorship to organise an animal farm, which is always such a big hit with the children.

Lots of laps at Surrey Hill Cricket Club

Surrey Hill Cricket Club launched their 2017-2018 season with a lap-a-thon. The Junior cricketers had 20 minutes to run as many laps of the Surrey Park oval as they could. The lap-a-thon was a fundraiser for the club and runners went into the draw to win an iPad donated by the Surrey Hills Community Bank® .  Branch Manager, Maggie Stamoulis presented the iPad to an very excited Ben who was the winner on the day. Ben and other junior players raised more than $500 for the club.

All set for the Surrey Hills Music Festival

Maggie Stamoulis, Manager of the Surrey Hills Community Bank® Branch recently presented Melissa Chipp (left) Surrey Hills Music Festival Director with a cheque for $7,000 for sponsorship of the Festival being held in November. Pictured here with Maggie and Melissa is Shima Ibuki and Chris Young from the Surrey Hills Neighbourhood Centre. The Music Festival is the premier community music event in the area and our Surrey Hills Branch is a proud sponsor again in 2017.

All set for the cricket season at North Balwyn

Senior Manager, Nick Coker and Balwyn Community Bank® branch Manager, Adam Osmani attended the North Balwyn Cricket Club 2017-2018 season launch. Club President, Neil Dalrymple commended the Community Bank® for our ongoing sponsorship of the club and accepted a $3,000 sponsorship cheque. Sponsorship funds are used for equipment purchases and the development of the player programs, in particular the the women’s and girl’s teams that were introduced last season.

Financial Inclusion at Swinburne University

Our group of Community Bank® branches are pleased to be supporting Swinburne’s Financial Inclusion Action Plan. As part of a commitment to ensuring their students realise their educational potential, Swinburne has developed a Financial Inclusion Action Plan to better support students. Through a number of initiatives and programs, they provide support for students who have been exposed to financial hardship and who may struggle with other difficulties triggered by financial stress. Funding provided by the Community Bank® will enable this program to meet its objectives

Inspiring Warriors- building resilience in children

Kathy Koulouris, Manager of the Ashburton Community Bank® branch attended Park Hill Primary School to present a cheque to Camcare Chief Executive Officer Jane Broadhead for $13,000. The Ashburton Community Bank® provided the funds to community organisation Camcare, to deliver the Inspiring Warriors Program to Grade 3 & 4 students at Parkhill Primary School. The Inspiring Warriors Program is a six week program teaching children emotional regulation & resilience within a structured, engaging and empowering educational program. We are proud to support this important initiative.

Chilean Independence Celebrations

The Canterbury Community Bank® supported the Sauzal Folkloric Dance Group who participated in Chilean Independence day celebrations. Numerous events are held throughout Melbourne during September for the Chilean community to commemorate the date Chile declared independence from Spain. Canterbury Community Bank® Branch Manager, Shuro Shome, Senior Manager, Nick Coker and Canterbury staff member Harrinson Gomez attended the event.

'Back to School' at Soccer Trivia night

The Ashburton United Soccer Club (and Alamein Football Club) recently held their major annual fundraiser. The Trivia night themed ‘Back to School’ was a great success and an opportunity for the Ashburton Community Bank® to present sponsorship and incentive cheque payments. $9,500 was provided to the club in Sponsorship and Banking Rewards payments, in recognition of recent home loans taken out by club members.  The night was a huge success with the club raising much needed funds to support the many programs they offer.

Community Bank® Under 16's Grand finalists again

The Ashy Redbacks Community Bank® Under 16 girls made the Grand Final for the third successive year. These girls showed great team spirit and although not the premiers this time they played a great game against the undefeated Kew Comets.
The Ashburton Community Bank® has been proud to be the naming sponsor of this team for the last two years. We look forward to continuing our involvement in season 2018. Well Done to all involved on a fantastic season.
