'The Bont' comes to Balwyn

Senior Manager, Nick Coker attended a lunch at the Balwyn Football Club last weekend. With only three rounds left in the season Balwyn took on Noble Park and although Noble Park took the points on the day, the lunch was a huge success.
Special guest Marcus Bontempelli from the Western Bulldogs spoke about his experience of becoming a premiership player at the age of 22.  Club President, Richard Wilson acknowledged our support of the Club and the Eastern Football League.

Supporting children to reach their full potential

We are very proud to support Learning for Life Autism Centre in Balwyn. The centre aims to assist children with autism to reach their full potential regardless of their financial circumstances. Adam Osmani and Dot Tamburrini from the Balwyn Community Bank® branch recently presented Mary Muirhead from Learning for Life with a $5,500 cheque to support their annual fundraising ball.

They presented the club with an incentive payment of $1,000 in recognition of banking undertaken by a club member. Supporting local Families.

The Boroondara Family Network provides support to families with newborn babies and young children. The group is coordinated by experienced volunteers who make regular home visits to families who don’t have social or family networks to support them. Volunteers provide assistance with parenting, providing advice on everyday issues and support with problems which can arise when a new baby arrives in the family.  The Community Bank® is very pleased to support this vital service. Our contribution will allow the network to increase the number of clients they can service.

Director, Dick Menting and Senior Manager, Nick Coker recently attended the Old Carey Grammarians first game of the season taking on rivals Old Scotch. Old Scotch were victorious on the day.

Celebrating a summer of Cricket at North Balwyn.

Staff from the Balwyn Community Bank® recently attended the North Balwyn Cricket Club end of season presentation night. Players, families and friends attended and the club sponsors were recognised. The Balwyn Community Bank® has been a long term supporter of the North Balwyn Cricket Club. We have provided more than $20,000 to the club in sponsorship.

New Defibrillator for Balwyn Primary School

Madeleine Smith and Nick Azar from the Balwyn Community Bank branch recently presented a cheque to Balwyn Primary School Principal, Trish Manicom to fund the purchase of a new defibrillator. School Nurse, Kaitlyn Dodson and students Nicolas, Isa and Tamsyn hope they never need to use the defibrillator but know that it can save a life if needed. Balwyn Primary School students are also enjoying the benefits of the School Banking Program provided by the Community Bank.
